If 2022 is a single step in a set of stairs, it should have a huge gap, and it must be trippy.
Little did I know 2022 would be hard to swallow all along the journey. This year emphasizes the phrase; there is always a first time for everything. Then, I knew 2022 is more than that; it’s about hope, letting go, and acceptance.
Started this year by building hopes and expectations as high as the skyscraper. But by the time the hopes were dashed, it finally dawned on me that reality had not lived up to expectations. Sometimes we fail to remember, and we are that blind. Hence, we were forced to let go.
Then, 2022 happened to be more like an older sister that tells you things you’ll learn because she had already experienced all those painful yet priceless episodes.
Until she falls in love. Falling in love has a thin line that distinguishes between falling in love with someone or just the memories. The grey area that rings a false alarm makes you believe it’s finally love that you feel, yet you actually fall in love with memories you had between the two of you. 2022 is the year where I fall in love with memories. And I will continue indulging myself in it.
Then, 2022 became a sweet delicious chocolate cake you buy after a frustrating day.
After two years of working from home, I finally had to work from the office several times a week, living alone on weekdays and commuting became my long-lost friend who came back after a long trip.
But the best part is I met new friends, and they are many of them. And I’m grateful to be among such excellent and inspiring people. As we grow in a year, I believe we are wonderful human beings, and we’re unique in our own way.
On December 23, I posted an NGL link on my Instagram story to allow people to send messages anonymously. I was in the middle of having my lunch when I burst into tears because reading all the messages. Thank you for the kind messages. I appreciate it a lot.
2022 was a hectic year for everyone, and if it's not challenging, it's not 2022. But all in all, this had been a priceless journey.
Thank you, 2022
XO, Nay.
